HELPING CHILDREN ANYWHERE EARN THEIR OWN SCHOOL SUPPLIES THROUGH ART

The very first Create2Educate project was in Summer of 2024 in Kampala, Uganda. Sixty children, from a very impoverished area, participated in a local art project, where they were provided art canvases and paints. Later, their artwork was displayed in a public "Art Exhibit" where they could show off their individual works of art to passersby. We took pictures of all the children holding their art and used these pictures to create an art book. The idea was to raise money from the art books to provide the funds needed to purchase their school supplies, thereby giving these kids a feeling that they earned it themselves. We made sure to provide each child an artbook of their very own, as well as the supplies they need for school. All this, because YOU helped!

Imagine how these children must feel, opening this art book for the very first time and seeing themselves holding up their own work of art! Our goal is to bring them hope, to instill a sense of confidence and self-esteem, and to inspire the creativity deep within their hearts & minds. When children feel they earned their way, rather than merely been given something, their self-esteem blossoms, especially for at-risk kids.
